A Janitor AI character export is a SillyTavern-compatible TavernCard — the same chara_card_v2/v3 format the whole card-sharing ecosystem uses, saved either as a PNG with the card data embedded in a text chunk, or as a raw .json file. Janitor AI doesn't invent its own format; it reads and writes the same card everyone else does, which is the only reason a one-click import between platforms is possible at all.
Desire AI's parser reads that file entirely in your browser, decodes the embedded card, and shows you a preview built from the same fields SillyTavern itself would render.
What carries over
•Name and the first few lines of her description (used as the appearance summary)
•Personality and scenario text
•The opening message (first_mes)
•Up to five example exchanges from the card's dialogue samples
•Tags — reclassified into Desire AI's own personality/dynamic/scenario categories
•A system prompt, if the original creator set one
•Content rating, inferred from the card's tags (sfw / suggestive / explicit)
What doesn't transfer
•Alternate greetings beyond the first one — the card can hold several, Desire AI's preview shows one
•World info / lorebook entries (character_book) — supported by the V3 card format but not read by this importer
•Any conversation history — Janitor AI doesn't export chat logs, only the character definition, so nothing from your existing chats moves over
•Embedded V3 assets (expression images, alt portraits) — the parser reads the text data, not bundled images
•Proxy or API-key configuration — irrelevant here since Desire AI is hosted, not a bring-your-own-key front end
