Desire AI companions are fictional AI characters. Users should always understand that chats and character-media experiences are synthetic or staged. No character on this site is presented as, or based on, a real living person, and no chat log is a record of a real relationship.

Chat with the current character roster is live today, free, and gated only at the point you start a conversation. Paid membership, account-based history across devices, and expanded media features are planned but not shipped — they are described on this site as planned specifically so that isn't ambiguous. When any of them ships, this page and the Terms are updated to match what's actually live, not the other way around.

Starting a chat requires confirming you're 18 or older. That check runs server-side, not just in the browser, and is built to fail closed: if the verification step itself breaks, the request is sent to the age gate rather than let through. Browsing character profiles and the discover feed stays open without the gate; only starting a conversation requires it.

The product is 18+ only. Characters are fictional adults — no minors, no depictions or implications of underage content, in any character, prompt, or generated media. No real-person sexual content: characters are not modeled on identifiable real individuals, and roleplay that tries to insert a real person is out of bounds. No doxxing, no non-consensual real-world content, and no instructions that facilitate real-world harm. Chat replies pass through a chain of automated checks before and after generation, not just a prompt instruction the model can ignore. Two of those, at a high level: a guard that stops a character from breaking identity — claiming to be a different AI product, or a real person, instead of staying in character — and a guard that stops a character from responding to a mild, in-bounds request with an out-of-place refusal or policy lecture instead of playing the scene. These sit alongside the hard content boundaries above, which are enforced regardless of what a character would otherwise say.

Chat and media features may use third-party AI providers. Provider routing can change for reliability, cost, and safety, and more than one provider may be in rotation at a time. Messages may be processed by those providers so the app can generate replies and apply safety checks. This is standard for hosted AI chat products — the model doing the reasoning is a separate service from the product wrapped around it — and it's worth stating plainly rather than leaving implicit.

The current product is free after the 18+ gate — no account, wallet, or payment required. Paid membership is planned but not live yet. When it launches, the payment rail is crypto (ETH), not a card processor; pricing, duration, and refund terms will be shown before any purchase, and this page will be updated to match.
