Can Anyone Read Your AI Chats? Accounts, History and Privacy

Do not infer access rules from a character's name or from the word private. Across AI services, sharing, public conversations and creator tools can work differently. Check the specific product's policy before assuming a creator either can or cannot read your conversation.

Desire's ordinary chat flow is a one-to-one conversation with a fictional AI character, not a public discussion thread. This is not a promise that the operator or its providers cannot access processed messages. Anyone who can use your browser may also be able to reopen your conversations.

Desire's privacy policy covers chat content, character choices, browser information, usage events and abuse-prevention signals. Messages may be sent to AI or media providers to operate the product. The policy allows processing for service operation, quality, safety and debugging.

Do not treat Desire as an end-to-end encrypted messenger, a zero-logging service or an offline AI tool. This page does not promise that providers never retain data or use it for training; review the current policy and ask support about any requirement that matters to you.

Desire uses browser-held conversation identifiers to reopen history. Someone using the same browser profile may be able to continue a conversation. Avoid shared browser profiles for conversations you do not want others to see.

Clearing browser data can remove your local access to a conversation, but it is not a server-side deletion request. Private browsing may reduce traces left in that browser after you close it; it does not prevent messages from reaching the service. No-account access also does not guarantee that history follows you to another device.

Desire's privacy policy provides for deletion or export requests through the site's support channel. Because the current flow does not require an account, support may need enough context to locate and verify the data involved. Do not post private messages or identifiers publicly when requesting help.

The policy describes retention by operational need rather than promising a fixed number of days. Do not assume that closing a tab, resetting a conversation or clearing cookies deletes every service record.

Use fictional details where possible, keep identifying information out of messages, and read the privacy policy. Adults can currently start Desire chat after the 18+ gate without registration, an email, a card or an app download. Daily network and abuse-prevention limits apply.

If your requirement is that messages never leave your device, a hosted companion service is not the right privacy assumption. Look for a genuinely local tool and verify its behavior separately.
